Responsibilities: Storyboarding, lesson planning, standards alignment, assessment creation, essential question development, slideshow and student packet design
Tools Used: Google Slides, Canva, Microsoft Word, Google Docs
Problem: Teachers needed a more manageable and engaging way to deliver science instruction aligned with grade-level standards.
Solution: I created a condensed science unit that includes essential questions, learning targets, a day-by-day lesson overview, an instructional slideshow, and a student packet with close reading passages, guided video notes, comprehension questions, and formative assessments. The unit concludes with a hands-on animal research project where students design a zoo exhibit, write a persuasive letter, and optionally build dioramas.
Results: The resource is used by my entire fourth-grade team and has been adopted by teachers in multiple districts. It has received positive feedback for its clarity, creativity, standards alignment, and ability to boost student content knowledge and engagement.
